P/S 892 B48 is a highly viscous compound for sealing the faying surface of integral fuel tanks and pressurized cabins. P/S 892 B48 was especially developed for use over a temperature range of -55°C to 120°C and will resist aircraft fuels (aviation gasoline or jet fuel) oils and hydraulic fluids.
P/S 892 B48 is a two-part, manganese dioxide cured polysulfide compound. The uncured material is a low sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. It does not flow from vertical or overhead surfaces after application. It has a long application time and a long assembly time. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient sealant having excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. |
